‘Arts & Gardens Festival’

CALL FOR ARTISTS, GROUPS, DEMONSTRATERS AND PERFORMERS

WHEN: Sunday 6th and Monday 7th May 2012
            From 12-5pm each day

WHO:   Artists/makers and groups working in any media, including performance, installation and workshop based ideas.

WHAT: Artists have the opportunity to exhibit their works and sell directly to the public from a selection of quirky venues throughout the village of Draycott. An art trail will direct visitors who will also enjoy street performers, refreshments and workshops.  We are particularly interested in artists who can offer cross-generational activities that seek to celebrate the arts and bring families and the community together.  Limits will be put on each medium in order to achieve a quality mix of designers and prices ranges.

PAST COMMENTS: “Very well attended, even in the rain!” Heather (textile artist)
“It was wonderful to get so much positive exposure” Helen (Jeweller)

COST:  Just £35 for the both days in a “venue”.

FESTIVAL INFO:  2012 will be the 8th Draycott Festival, coordinated by startle, a not-for-profit organisation.

TO APPLY: For our selection process we ask you send a statement about you and your work along with 3-6 images (if applicable).  Any initial show of interest is also welcome.  Any questions, just ask.

Draycott Festival of Arts and Gardens | Every year our festival sees a different mix of artists, performers, venues & events gathering together to create the ’Draycott Festival of Arts & Gardens’.
It also seems that Draycott folk are great at getting involved with good causes and helping them in many ways.
As always, our particular strength is that many of the artists will be actively working at their disciplines. We feel that this gives you a special insight into, and an appreciation of, the methods used by the wide variety of artists showing as a part of the Festival.
Enjoy a stroll around the venues and gardens where local residents, guest artists and groups of local artists, craftspeople and performers are exhibiting.
Don’t be shy – the artists will love to talk to you about their work.

Contact us at startle@thebeetroottree.com if you are an artist or performer and would like to be involved.

The festival is a not-for-profit event organized by ‘startle participatory arts’ and we gratefully acknowledge the help of all involved.
