Resin Jewellery
With Emma Brough
1st & 8th April 2010 (evening) - £40
In this evening class over two Thursdays you will be given the opportunity to explore the medium of resin. This exciting substance allows you to encapsulate and suspend both ideas and materials. Use it is as a 'memory box' to encase a small item or as a chance to sculpt by designing with inclusions to create pretty and functional jewellery or decorative pieces. Emma will guide you through each step from design to finishing.

Saturday 17 April 2010 - £45
In this workshop you will be given a zinc plate and a Perspex plate to experiment on. In the morning we will work on our plates using a fine etching needle to draw (or trace!) and also explore the more painterly and random effects of carborundum. After lunch we will print our plates using water based inks. Chine colee can also be used to add a highlight of colour to your print. You will go away with at least two plates which can be used again and again and at least two prints for you to frame or make into cards for your friends.

If you have an interest in digital photography or have a camera that you are unsure of how to use properly then Digital Photography course for beginners is the course for you. Each session you will explore the main functions on your camera, be provided with information on photography basics (i.e. depth of field, aperture and exposure times) and be shown how to create interesting images by learning about movement, framing and forms. By the end of the 4 sessions you will be more confident with your camera and be aware of how to make a visually interesting image to be proud of.
