Silver Earrings & Pendants with Helen Domleo

Helen has taught and exhibited internationally and carries with her an incredible wealth of knowledge about tradtional and contemporary jewellery making techniques. Now is your opportunity to learn through her fun and fascinating workshop. You will come away with a set of earrings and a pendant plus a set of newly learned skills.
Saturday 31st July - £45 + small materials charge
We are seriously feeling the love for wool. This new and exciting course comes to you from Stewart Kelly, an expert in textiles and a qualified teacher.
This course encourages students to explore the possibilities of ‘off loom’ weaving. Students will learn techniques including warping up a tapestry frame, ‘weft changes’, ‘Soumak’ and ‘Egyptian Knots’. Students will be encouraged to experiment working with unconventional materials to produce innovative and original work. During the workshop students will complete a small wall hanging.
Participants will gain the following skills and knowledge;
-Warping a tapestry frame
-Plain weave and weft changes
-Textural knots
-Exploring materials

Colours, metals, wires, Dichroic Glass, cutting and layering can all be used to make glistening jewellery. Work to design your own unique pendants, earrings, brooches, cufflinks and rings. Some pieces will be fired and finished on the day, others will be taken back to Stevies studio, fired and then returned to the gallery for collection. The day will also include use of a Microwave Kiln.... interesting isn't it?
Sculptural Weaving with Stewart Kelly

This course will enable you to explore the possibilities of three-dimensional weaving. You will be encouraged to experiment and use recycled materials including wire, plastics and more to create a wall hanging. By manipulating the woven structures through applying heat sculptural forms will begin to emerge…

Hurrah! We can hardly contain our excitement that Leigh *Magic Minx Productions* is back. This is an introduction course to PMC in which you will learn the addictive practice of working with this fab material. You should be able to produce a pendant and earrings during this session (time allowing). Places went fast last time so book your place quickly.
NB - Leigh brings lots of goodies with her including starter packs and materials so bring your cheque book if you think you would like to continue developing this craft at home!
